LASER ENGRAVING
Laser engraving is a precise and advanced method of marking or etching designs onto various materials using a laser beam. The laser removes or vaporizes the surface layer of the material, creating detailed and permanent engravings. This technique is highly versatile, suitable for materials like wood, metal, glass, acrylic, and leather, and is commonly used for custom products, promotional items, and industrial applications.
Laser engraving emerged with the development of laser technology in the mid-20th century. The first laser was invented in 1960 by Theodore Maiman, and by the 1970s, laser technology began to be applied to manufacturing processes. Laser engraving became more widely adopted in the 1980s and 1990s as lasers became more affordable and capable. This technology revolutionized the engraving industry, providing a highly accurate and efficient method for creating detailed designs.
Laser engraving is renowned for its durability. The engravings are permanent and resistant to fading, scratching, and wearing. Since the laser removes material to create the design, it does not rely on surface coatings that can wear off. This makes laser-engraved items highly resilient, suitable for products that endure regular use or harsh conditions. The longevity of the engraving depends on the material being engraved; however, in general, laser engravings are designed to last and maintain their clarity and detail over time.
